0451: In the early 80's, Hasse became good friends with top radio DJ Tunde Thomas, of Radio Syd in Gambia, West-Africa. Tunde was the first radio DJ in Africa to promote Hasse's music. Photo: Tunde Thomas' album. |
0450: DJ Tunde Thomas (or "Double T", to his friends and fans), posing outside his work place, Radio Syd, in Gambia, West-Africa. Tunde presented Hasse Walli's music to the listeners in Gambia and Senegal in the early 80's. Because Hasse Walli's name sounds like a local name, many listeners where shocked to find that Hasse was a white European when they saw him perform live (click The African Years, to view photos of Hasse performing with bands in Gambia and Senegal).
